My journey in education
With over 20 years of teaching experience across Wales, England, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, I've had the privilege of holding numerous leadership roles in both maths departments and whole school initiatives. This extensive background has fueled my desire to create an accessible platform where secondary school students following the Welsh Curriculum can easily find maths and numeracy support tailored to their specific level and stage of learning.
The language of the universe
What excites me most about teaching maths and helping students in Wales is the profound impact a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts can have. Maths truly is the language of the universe. By connecting these concepts to the world around them, students become better equipped for life, developing crucial skills for problem-solving and logical reasoning.
Making maths engaging and intuitive
My unique style focuses on making learning maths easier and more enjoyable. It's crucial to practise mental maths for quick and accurate recall of facts and skills. Good fluency in maths is the bedrock for effective problem-solving and applying logical reasoning to any situation. I guide students to build this fluency, turning complex challenges into manageable steps.
